Designs That Connect: Studio Minosa’s KBDi NSW Finalists Announced

June 21, 2025
WE ARE FINALISTS
Recognition like this reflects the incredible collaboration between our clients, our studio, and the craftspeople who help bring our designs to life.
We’re honoured and thrilled to share that four Studio Minosa projects have been named NSW state finalists in the 2025 KBDi Awards.
Each of these projects represents a unique response to place, client, and craft — and to see them acknowledged is a privilege we don’t take lightly.
Ashbury — Large Kitchen Finalist
Set within the walls of a former corner store, our Ashbury kitchen is a story of renewal and connection. Anchored by a lush garden that dissolves the line between indoors and out, the kitchen’s rich palette of black-stained oak, warm walnut, and deep green nanotech subtly reflects the landscape beyond. Designed for communal cooking and daily ritual, this space celebrates light, memory, and the joy of family life.

Cremorne — Kitchen Plus Finalist
In Cremorne, the kitchen and scullery were designed to serve a growing family while honouring a breath-taking waterfront setting. Sophisticated, warm, and quietly playful, this forever-home kitchen balances functionality with grace, offering spaces for effortless entertaining, daily living, and everything in between.

Wahroonga — Traditional Kitchen & Small Bathroom Finalist
Our Wahroonga project reimagines a heritage-listed home for modern family life while celebrating its Federation roots. The kitchen pairs refined materiality with thoughtful planning — from a concealed back kitchen to dual dining zones for flexibility.

In the small bathroom, layered detail continues with chevron marble mosaics, timber datum lines, and tonal tiles that honour the home’s character while supporting busy family rhythms.

Vaucluse — Outdoor Kitchen Finalist
The Vaucluse alfresco kitchen was designed as a seamless extension of the home, perfectly attuned to its harbour backdrop. Crafted for entertaining, this island-style outdoor space combines elegance and function — from custom joinery and integrated appliances to architectural timber details that play with light and shadow throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to the KBDi and to the judges who have given so generously of their time to review and celebrate design excellence across the state.
Most of all, our deepest thanks go to our amazing clients — for trusting us with their homes, for connecting with our vision, and for allowing us to create spaces that reflect who they are. And to the talented craftspeople who help us bring these ideas to life, we are endlessly grateful.
We look forward to coming together in Adelaide this August at the KBDi National Conference for the next stage of the awards.
