The Ashbury Project is a thoughtful renovation of a former corner store, reimagined as a connected, contemporary family home within one of Sydney’s earliest garden suburbs. Studio Minosa responded to a complex brief that called for more than just beauty — it required restraint, warmth, and a deep sense of place.

Every decision was driven by the desire to honour the home's history while creating a modern interior that supports the rituals of family life. From the lush, layered garden framed by floor-to-ceiling glass to the bespoke kitchen joinery crafted beneath a stair, this home speaks to memory, materiality, and quiet connection.

“By dissolving the line between inside and out, the garden became the true heart of the home.”

“Materiality wasn’t decorative — it was emotional. A way to ground the home in memory, landscape, and daily life.”
