Glenbrook: Behind the Lens

There is a moment at the end of every project where the home starts to speak for itself.

The drawings are packed away. The trades have left. The light begins to move through the rooms, and all the decisions — the planning, the details, the materials, the furniture, the art — finally settle into place.

Glenbrook was one of those moments.

This was a home shaped around family life, calm materiality and a more connected way of living. We designed the interior, detailed the kitchen and bathrooms, furnished the home, curated the art and styled the spaces for shoot day.

Then, unexpectedly, we photographed it ourselves.

With Nicole England away shooting her next book, and a few very helpful tips kindly passed on beforehand, we stepped into Glenbrook with camera in hand — not only as designers, but as storytellers of our own work.

And there is something very different about photographing a home you have lived inside creatively for months.

You see the line where Corian meets travertine. The shadow beneath a floating vanity. The softness of linen against stone. The way morning light catches a curved edge. The quiet details that make a space feel resolved.

We were not trying to capture every room. Not yet.

There are still finishing touches happening throughout the home, and the indoor pool area is still to be completed. But with HIA award entries calling, we needed to photograph the kitchen and ensuite now — and we will return to capture the rest of the home once the dust has truly settled and our clients are completely comfortable in their new surroundings.

For now, this shoot became something more personal.

A chance to slow down, look closely, and capture Glenbrook through the eyes of the people who helped shape it.
