Epping Stage 3 — Completing the Private Chapter

Some homes are designed in one movement.

Others are designed over time, in chapters.

Epping has been one of those homes.

Over the past seven or eight years, we have returned to this house again and again — each time adding another layer to how the family lives. The wine cellar. The sports bar. The powder room. The laundry. The home cinema. The lounge. The kitchen and scullery. The entry. The home office. The alfresco areas.

Each space has had its own brief, its own energy, and its own reason for being.

Now, we are back for the final stage.

Stage 3 turns its attention to the private areas of the home — the children’s bedrooms, the main bathroom, and the master retreat.

And this is where the home begins to feel complete.

The master suite has been entirely reconsidered, with a major reconfiguration of the floor plan to create a true retreat. A new bedroom zone. A generous walk-in wardrobe. A hidden television. And an ensuite designed as a place to reset, not simply a room to pass through.

The ensuite brings together a double vanity, freestanding bath, double shower with integrated steam, and a concealed toilet — all wrapped in a palette of soft greys, warm timber, expressive stone, shadow, and carefully layered light.

It is calm, tactile and quietly luxurious.

The kind of space that feels considered before it feels styled.

For us, this final stage carries real meaning. We have already shaped the way this home welcomes, entertains, works, relaxes and gathers. Now we get to complete the spaces where the family withdraws, rests and begins again.
